The Bavarian Forest is a large 240 km² forest area with mountains. The highest mountain in the area is the Großer Arber. A river named Rain runs through the forest. This river is created by two other rivers that come together and finally end in the city of Regensburg. In summer the area is perfect for beautiful walks through the forests and for climbing the mountains. In winter the Bavarian Forest turns into a ski area.
