Trieste is a city in the extreme northeast of Italy. It is a stone’s throw from the Slovenian border and take a trip there. The town itself has a number of beautiful old attractions such as the Castle of Miramare. This castle was built in the mid-19th century as a summer residence for Maximilian von Habsburg. Today it is open to the public.

Today it is open to the public. Every year in October a spectacular event takes place: the Barcolana Regatta. Here 2000 sailing boats sail along the coast of Trieste.
